Why is there so much difference between the way we write and talk? Because when we talk, the other person can see our non-verbal language: smell our perfume (or bad breath!), see our frown or smile, hear the differences in intonation and inflection of our voice, feel the cold or warmth of the breeze, etc. We writers essentially have the task of translating the language of our other senses into one language our eyes can understand as it feeds the words to our brain.
8 Things I’ve Learned From a Dying Man The news hit me like a sledgehammer. My world shattered into pieces. I knew this day would arrive, but I haven’t expected it to be like this. My uncle suffered from the deadly virus right after he went home taking care of his sick brother two weeks early. The initial symptoms were normal. Flu-like symptoms that worsened as days pass. He was the most high-spirited person in our family. A kind-of-person that can make you smile even when you don't feel like smiling at all. He was not even supposed to get sick like this. But life is unpredictable, so death doesn’t give you time to think about it. On the positive side, I’ve concluded some life-lessons from the death of my uncle. I hope that these lessons teach you something about living a healthy, happy, and meaningful life. 1. Live Fully, Die Peacefully My uncle left this world at peace. He was a jolly guy. He treated each day as an opportunity to change the world. Little by little, he worked hi...

While, most people are not professional designers, or some may lack a good beauty-appreciation. That’s why we can find lots of horrible photo on the Internet. Here are some common photo editing mistakes. 1. Over-smoothing of the skin It is a common mistake we see in photo editing. To make the skin look “perfect” and remove blemishes & scars, people may apply over smoothing. But if the skin is over smoothened it is like their skin is just plastic. Yeh, the skin become smoother and the face looks cleaner, but people who see the pictures will find it uncomfortable and fake. 2. The filter/effect needs to selected in consideration of the theme, the photo content, and inspiration you want to express. It i...
First of all, you have to start with a good photograph. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear as the saying goes. Having a good photograph there are programs that let you adjust things like lighting, enhance the face, etc. You should get a working knowledge of Photoshop®, especially the unsharp mask in sharpen.  Light is always going to be key. The lower the aperture and ISO, with a high shitter speed are the general rule. Remember the rule of thirds and always set goals for yourself. Practice makes perfect and getting your picture as near perfect IN CAMERA is way better than post editing miracles. It’s easy to get too clinical with photo editing, such as neutralising every colour cast using the white balance controls. But some photos benefit from looking warm or cold compared to the ‘perfect’ white balance. Work to your own recipe rather than following textbook instructions.

Digital photographic editing is the process used to make adjustments to digital negatives. Such adjustments may change the white balance, enhance or subdue highlights and shadows, modify contrast, enlarge an image or reformat it. One can also modify or remove color, edit portions of the image to change content, change sharpness or make other adjustments to image content. These changes can be made to improve image quality, change the content or otherwise conform the image to the photographer's vision. Essentially, when I edit a photograph, I do so to make it conform to what I or the customer want artistically. I keep the edits to a minimum and try to not overdo the edits. In my opinion, this keeps the image natural looking as opposed to fake, as can result from heavy-handed editing. That choice is a matter of style and not an absolute. Each photographer should apply edits that allow for their talent and creativity to shine in a way consistent with their vision. For what it is worth,...
In the digital age you as a photographer are expected to be familiar and knowledgeable with Photoshop. It can be argued back and forth if this is right or wrong and whether Photoshop is ruining photography. But I see Photoshop as a tool, just as the darkroom was a tool to manipulate images. I have put together this list of 10 techniques that helps me get the most out of my images. As my photographic skills grew so did my curiosity for better images. The more I observed the photographers I looked up to, the more I noticed the images they took were not straight from the camera. Post processing plays a big role in today's photographic society. Whether it's used subtlety, or for major composites, it's definitely an important skill to know. Over the last few years, through experimentation and taking bits and pieces of what other photographers have shown me, I built a workflow that I use for my post processing. This list is an overview of how I edit my photos. There are thousands...
